MCCo ENERGY EFFICIENCY GRANT FUND

The MCCo Energy Efficiency Fund (EEF) is a $3 million revolving grant fund that provides up-front capital for projects that reduce Member Institutions’ environmental impact through energy efficiency efforts. Basic project eligibility guidelines state that projects must result in energy savings for a Member Institution and have a payback period of five years or less. Accepted projects should be completed within 12 months of award date. In order to replenish the fund to catalyze additional efficiency projects, MCCo will add a facility upgrade surcharge to participants' monthly bills which will include an administrative fee of 1.5% on grant awards. Surcharge terms and amounts will take into account projected energy cost savings and payback periods.

PROJECT CRITERIA

Eligible projects include those that:

• Reduce demand on the Central MCCo plant
• Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
• Reduce energy use
• Reduce water use
• Reduce sewage or stormwater
• Reduce pollutants
• Improve operations
• Educate occupants
• Install renewable energy systems

RULES

Multiple conservation measures can be combined in one application to achieve a total project payback of 5 years or less.

Payback period of five years or less.

1.5% administrative fee.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS DESCRIBED

After reviewing the Grant Fund Eligibility Requirements & Evaluation Criteria, we strongly recommend contacting Todd Gadawski at project conception to benefit from a range of support services and to help align the project direction with the EEF criteria. This pre-application connection will lead to a more efficient and effective application and review process.

PAYMENT PROCESS

Payback schedules are based on the estimated annual savings calculated during the application process. Once part or all of your expenses for a particular project are incurred, send a copy of the paid invoice to Anne Roberts in order to receive the equivalent amount paid to the coding indicated on the application form. Payments back to the EFF from the "paid from" account on the application form are executed monthly.
